brrreeeport

In Pop Culture by Heidi Nyburg on Thursday, February 16, 2006

Following in the footsteps of Steven Colbert’s “truthiness”, brrreeeport is poised to win the American Dialect Society’s 2006 Word of the Year. Truthiness also captured the heart of the The New York Times who counted “truthiness” among nine words that captured the spirit of 2005. Watch out “truthiness”, brrreeeport is the new black. The Eagle is on notice.

I suspect brrreeeport mania will fade soon. It’s likely already served Scoble’s initial purpose. Now, it’s amusing to see how creative bloggers are in trying to tie the word into their regular blogging routines. Others are trying to co-opt the term. Rubel’s trying to get people to switch to breememe or something. Strange.
