This RULES Get out your white suit and have umbrella drinks at the ready, Fantasy Island is coming to the big screen thanks to Columbia Pictures. The Hollywood Reporter reports (really, do they?) that Eddie Murphy is on board to play multiple roles. Hopefully they won’t turn it into Big Momma’s Island or Norbit Has a Fantasy. This one seems more Mike Myers-ish to us. But Murphy does have that suave Ricardo Montalbon thing going on. Think back to his Ricky Ricardo on Delirious.
When we were just tiny baby cupcakes, this show scared the crap out of us. We could never really tell whether Mr. Rourke was working on the side of good or evil. And what was up with Tattoo? Was he the Friday to Mr. Rourke’s Crusoe? Or was he there voluntarily? And what about all of the Farrah-bots flanking Rourke 24/7? Straight out of Barbarella or what?

Will you be joining us on the island? Here is a shot of the real Fantasy Island in Honduras.

I wonder who is going to play Tattoo. I’d like it to be Warwick Davis, but I have a feeling lil Verne Troyer is going to be in the white suit.
