Wii takin’ over.- The Wii Mix

In Music and Concerts by Heidi Nyburg on Thursday, May 17, 2007

Oui, we are Wii fanatics. It’s true. We love the games. We love the polls. We love the Wii. Just the sound of our precious little Miis bouncing around in the Mii Plaza sets our hearts aflutter. So when we heard about the Robotobots and their Wii Mix we couldn’t wait to spread the word.

If you love the Wii and you love hip hop electro freestyle experimental (totally a genre), then you will love the Robotobots. An as yet unsigned (not for long) duo who created three tricked out tracks based on the sounds of the Wii. The Wii sounds take on a new life in these tracks, and it kicks. The beauty of the Robotobots Wii Mix that they manage to spin the sounds of the Wii into eclectic mixes that while recognizable, still manage to stand on their own as solid, even danceable tracks. Mmm comforting happy dance Wii sounds that make you want to get out your glow sticks.

Visit their myspace page to hear the tracks. While your there pick up a friendly add and a buy a t-shirt ’cause the logo doesn’t suck either.

Fancy yourself a future Robotobot?

Create your own hip hop master piece (is that an oxymoron?) Get busy at eJay. PCs only, no Mac love yet. :(

I can imagine there’ll be a day a music composing game will be available for the Wii where you use the remote to mix tracks or place music notes. The final pieces can be put online and you can creaty a community around it.
