Big Love Monday!

biglovethefam.jpg

We are so EXCITED for tonight’s episode! WTF does Wendy want, showing up at the Henricksons’? She needs to quit the Hardware store and leave the fam alone! We weren’t really buying Barb’s running away from home plot line from last week, especially since she just had that heart to heart with Sarah, glad she’s back home. Tonight’s the episode with the defaced billboards, a visit from a post fender bender Wendy and a big bust up at the compound.

biglovehomeplus.jpg

In case you just started watching, we found some great videos from HBO that give a back story on some of the key plot points, like how Bill and Margene met. If you have OnDemand, there are two others and as soon as we have ‘em we’ll post them here.

Meet the Babysitter

Loving Margene’s hair!

It’s the Kittens vs the Cougars in the stupidest TV show since Runway Mom. We’re not even Cougars but we despise the Kittens. Ew. Ew. Ew. We thought Demi and Ashton put this argument to rest.

OMG the intro is atrocious!! Dear God in heaven, please let him choose a Cougar. We hate this show.

We’re totally Tivoing this. We know, it’s so wrong.

Big Love: Tonight’s the night…

In Marketing and Advertising, Television by Heidi Nyburg on Monday, June 11, 2007

it’s gonna be alright….upstairs before the night’s too old….oh uh, sorry we got carried away..

big-love.jpg

Tonight at 9m, our favorite show Big Love kicks off like an old pair of Dittos in the back seat of a VW Bug, and makes feel all mushy inside. We’ve said all of this before, we love Big Love; the cast is amazing and the storyline is innovative. But today we want to call your attention to HBO’s latest ad campaign for the show. They’ve launched a couple of faux products that truly fit the Bill [Henrickson]

First there’s an Estee Lauderesque commercial for a scent called Eau de Polygamie - a scent that’s all your own.

Be the favorite with Eau de Polygamie

edphbo

Then there’s Polygerol. When you’re having trouble remembering who’s night it is, try Polygerol.

polygerolhbo

Hopefully you’ll get a chance to watch the show tonihgt, if you haven’t already, and fall in love: cubed.

If not, reminisce a bit and get all warm and mushy with this Rod Stewart make out song:

Serioulsy. This is the best video, ever.

It’s ovah. Now What?

end2

HBO wants to end it. They say they’re just not that into it anymore and they’re not returning our calls. We’re told there are five stages to grieving the loss of a relationship. Well, stage three is upon us. We understand that there are only two episodes left until our precious Sopranos are ripped from our loving arms and tossed out of our lives like dead remote control batteries. And now that we’ve worked through our denial and buried our anger, we have come to the realization that it doesn’t have to end. What if things were to change? We’re willing to compromise. For example, let’s take the characters out of the Sopranos and recast them into other successful shows? Can’t we please give it another shot? HBO, we need to talk.

The Sobrado Bunch -
Plaid is back and this family wears it well. Tony Sobrado splits his time running the local architects mob and coaching little league. Between bake sales and raising six little mobsters in training, Mamma Sobrado has her ands full. Plucky Lil’ Paulie Walnuts will tug at your heartstrings with his hilarious antics , you’ll want to come home to this fun filled family every night. Tuesdays at 8 this Fall.

sobrados

Our View
You got opinions? Well Tony and the guys think you bettah fuggehtabout ‘em. Come on down to Bada Bing’s and drink your morning soy latte extra foam with America’s favorite mobsters! But be prepared to leave your opinions at the door or suffer the unfortunate consequences. Early morning split screen debates between Tony and Christopher will have you taking sides. Choose wisely. 9am Weekdays.

The Partranos- Tony Partrano takes the wheel driving this singing family of mobsters across the country as they con their way from county fair gigs to Summer music festivals. The will they/won’t they sexual tension between Mr. Paulie Kincaid and Mrs Partrano will keep you in stitches if the bullet wounds don’t get you first. Sundays at 9pm.

partranos

The “Office”-
Tony rules his office with an iron fist and a Brooks Brothers suit. He’s got quotas and sexy dance moves. You won’t know when to laugh or cry and neither does his family of aspiring mobsters running the “business” under the guise of a cubicle filled Silicon Valley start-up. Tony’s team is rounding up venture “funding” and lining up “mergers and acquisitions” every Thursday at 8 this Fall.

American “Made” Idol
You better be able to sing and not like a canary. Paulie Walnuts wields a sharp tongue and brutal aim with his 35mm. Don’t hit that note and you may be Tony’s or Paulie’s next “hit” because these judges rule the music industry with connections and contusions. Auditions to be held this Summer at Bada Bing’s.

HBO please return our calls. We can make this work.

Soprano Sunday- Soprano Art and Video Gallery– The end is near.

We are posting Soprano Sunday a little early this week because this is it, the end, and we have a lot to cover. This week’s edition is focused on the fans and the culture surrounding the Sopranos. We have gathered all of the Soprano art done by fans and/or professional artists and put them in this gallery. If you see your art here and it is not properly credited or you would like it removed, please let us know. We are also including Sopranos fan tribute videos we’ve come across.

Let’s open the gallery with this piece by Annie Leibowitz. This image was recently featured on Popped Culture as part of a Last Supper retrospective. It was actually our favorite of the collection.artsopranolebowitz.jpg

A comic by John Cassady. Love Melfy in this.

A water color by M. Badilo, an interesting contrast of medium and subject matter.

artsopranosmbadiloprsonartdotorg.jpg

This piece is part of a banned political ad. There were several images that had HBO in a litigious tail spin. This one is our favorite.

Fox Trot, kind of meh but this one’s not bad.

This one, from the New Yorker, isn’t really specific to the Sopranos but it’s hilarious. It could have been framed around a Blockbuster Video store and been even funnier.

Sopranos in Pop Culture- You could catch a stage version or find out if you’re a Soprano look-alike. There were tours in New Jersey and you could even map the shoot locations on Google maps or buy souvenirs from Cleaver. Here are a few of our favorite fun Soprano finds..

We love Pin Ball, our usual machine is the Addam’s Family but that’s only because we’ve never even seen this beauty from Stern. Visit Pinball News for a super in-depth review of this machine. It’s got everything, the duck, the strippers, Bada Bing’s plus a gazillion references for the real Sopranos fan. Must. Have. One.

Ok ,here’s the BIG questions, we got a MatchBox car, a Pin Ball Machine, tons of Soprano branded merchandise, but no ACTION FIGURES? WTF!!!!! Help us Todd MacFarlane, you’re our only hope.
