Yeah, we’re back. What? A giant piece of layercake can’t slink off and take a stealthy, frosted vacation? What kind of world are we living in? You missed us, huh? And you kind of want to kiss us too. It’s ok to admit it. Muah! Big kiss! We missed you too!

So onto more pressing issues. While we were on Summer Vacation (yes, it’s capitalized, look it up in the layercake book of vaguely correct grammar) we saw a little puppet show called AvenueQ. And as we watched and fought the overwhelming urge to rent puppet porn sing along, we couldn’t help but notice THIS:

Normally these two don’t really look alike but when we saw this photo of Tony Collette at Cannes, we immediately did that matchy game in our head with this photo of Uma Thurman. They both have so many different looks and are both really lovely. Too bad Uma doesn’t take a cue from Tony when it comes to choosing which films to pursue.

Ok let’s start this one off by saying we LOVE Amy WastedWinehouse. Her sultry smoky voice and soulful lyrics put the art in heartache. However, we can’t help but wonder if the song Rehab was written after an intervention at the MAC counter for her serious addiction to black eyeliner. Ok, we get it. It’s part of her signature and it totally works with the leaning- tower-of-Marge-Simpson behive she’s rockin’. Oh and her latest release is titled Back to Black. Coincidence? We think not.

Don’t try to say you don’t see the resemblance between Amy and the Layercake.net mascot, Romeo. They even have the same center highlight.

Romeo could not be reached for comment as he is currently checked in at Promises in Malibu for his serious addiction to MAC eyeliner.
