Hard Candy.

Madonna: Hard Ass or Candy Ass? Here’s the official cover of her new album. So much better than that Shirley Temple-esque promo shot for Candy Store but still as far as Madonna album covers go, this is not our fav. The tongue thing looks kinda weird, no?

3) How did Red Bull and Rock Star lose out to Mountain Dew for this product placement?

Morning Crumb Cake: Driven to tears..

In Morning Crumb Cake, Music and Concerts by Heidi Nyburg on Wednesday, May 30, 2007

Two things suck about this week:

1) We’re not in Canada

2) We don’t have tickets to the sold out Police tour

In fact we are ticketless for the entire tour. This is quite frankly, an outrage. Favorite. Band. Ever. That’s all we’re going to say about it.

Seriously great footage from the Whiskey a Go Go show in February, where they officially announced the reunion tour.

Good morning and welcome back to the work week. Unless you’re not in the United States and you had to work Monday. In that case, sorry we slacked yesterday. Hope you won’t break up with us over it.

On to the crumb cake:

We have three things to say about this video:

1) It is the shit.

2) We kinda want to hang out with the cool kids in the video.

3) Blue t-shirt guy gets the Snarky Hipster Pop Culture Reference T of the Week award.

Avatars are so cool. Just watch these club mates bust out their Elaine Benes moves in the Sims 2 fan video for Lily Allen’s Friday Night. The avatars act out the entire song just like an 80’s video. It rules.

Wii takin’ over.- The Wii Mix

In Music and Concerts by Heidi Nyburg on Thursday, May 17, 2007

Oui, we are Wii fanatics. It’s true. We love the games. We love the polls. We love the Wii. Just the sound of our precious little Miis bouncing around in the Mii Plaza sets our hearts aflutter. So when we heard about the Robotobots and their Wii Mix we couldn’t wait to spread the word.

robotobots

If you love the Wii and you love hip hop electro freestyle experimental (totally a genre), then you will love the Robotobots. An as yet unsigned (not for long) duo who created three tricked out tracks based on the sounds of the Wii. The Wii sounds take on a new life in these tracks, and it kicks. The beauty of the Robotobots Wii Mix that they manage to spin the sounds of the Wii into eclectic mixes that while recognizable, still manage to stand on their own as solid, even danceable tracks. Mmm comforting happy dance Wii sounds that make you want to get out your glow sticks.

Visit their myspace page to hear the tracks. While your there pick up a friendly add and a buy a t-shirt ’cause the logo doesn’t suck either.

Fancy yourself a future Robotobot?

What Prince Really Wants: A Duet with Amy Winehouse

In Celebrities, Music and Concerts by Heidi Nyburg on Saturday, May 12, 2007

Prince has popped the question and Amy Winehouse says yes!

According to NME.com and MTV, Prince has extended the dove of duetism and Amy is all over that. Duh.

princeandamyduet

Amy Winehouse has said she would “drop everything” to duet with Prince.

As previously reported Prince revealed his wish for the British singer to join him onstage for a version of her track ‘Love Is A Losing Game’.

Commenting on the fact Prince said he would be taking time off to study the Bible, she told MTV News: “What? I didn’t know that. Prince is gonna study the Bible? Is he going to be a rabbi? I hope I can do (the gigs) though.

“I’ll drop everything to do that. Stuff like that doesn’t make me go, ‘Oh I must be the nuts.’ Stuff like that makes me want to do this tomorrow, and the night after, and the night after. Now I want to find out how solid that is. I’d do it with bells on. All day long.”

Unfortunately, Prince’s tour sold out in 9 minutes so we’ll have to cruise youtube for some grainy video recorded on the cell phone of some kid who probably wasn’t even partying in 1999.
