Fistofblog brings the world this fabulous video of a Star Wars synopsis through the eyes of his adorable 3yr old daughter. Sometimes these little kid videos can be annoying, but thanks to some nifty editing by Dad, this one gets the Layercake.net Official Seal of Non-Annoyance, so press play without fear.

UPDATE: Wow, this morning there were 46k hits on this video and now, just a couple of hours later it’s up to 1.2 million.

More Sex and the City that is!

Newline Cinema released a new longer and more telling trailer for Sex and the City! Spoiler alert, this is more like a trailer than a teaser so it gives away multiple plot lines. And it’s delish!!!!

Cloverfield: Still inducing nausea.

Maybe you are one of the many movie goers who experienced the Blair Witch flu while watching Cloverfield on the big screen. Well, now that you’re feeling better, no more following the hand held camera through subway tunnels running from the creepy, destructive monster, perhaps you’re feeling a bit nostalgic? Maybe you’re even missing the big guy. Well, fret no more, the Cloverfield action figure has arrived! Thanks to Hasbro you can seal those fond memories with a plastic injection mold replica of the Cloverfield monster. He will sit on your desk with that hissy face of his forever reminding you of that swell time you had sidestepping your way down the theater aisle to gag your way to the restroom.

Two words: Cree. Py. This is one creepy, ugly toy. No offense.

Candid action shot.

Is it May 22nd yet? Here it is, the first trailer for the long awaited Indian Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

He’s still got it! According to GMA, Harrison Ford says he did more of the actual physical work for this film than he did in the earlier films which were made when he was in his thirties. Go Harrison! Shai doesn’t look so bad either!

Take a look back at the trailers for the first three Indiana Jones films. Where were you when you saw your first? In front of a movie or television screen perhaps? We’re psychic! Aww, memories…

Make Up Artist’s Union Not on Strike

It’s the week we’ve all been dreading waiting for, this Friday marks the opening of Paris Hilton’s latest cinematic triumph, The Hottie and the Nottie! Not since House of Wax has there been a film that generated this much anticipation. It’s palpable. The sure to be unwatchable celluloid sink hole also stars Christine Lakin who is not Paris Hilton and who has a not so shabby little page over at IMDB. So the question comes to mind, why the *uck did she sign on to do this movie? Was it a long held facial hair fetish? Perhaps she’s testing the limitations of the Yahoo movie rating system; what’s lower than an F- anyway? Or maybe she’s a recent graduate of the Brenden Fraser School of Career Killing Decisions? One may never know. However one thing is certain, in this digital dumping ground, the makeup is the only cast member working over time.

Exhibit A

Oscar’s 80th- The nominations are in!

Let the will they or won’t they begin, hopefully the writers’ strike will be resolved in time for Oscar’s 80th. No doubt the show will go on regardless but let’s hope that we don’t end up with an Oscar show that resembles the Golden Globes. As for this year’s poster we were expecting something brilliant for the 80th instead we have the uninspired flashbulb flanked forward facing statue. Kind of looks like a Star Wars poster which is not surprising considering it was designed by Drew Struzan who created the one sheets for all of the Star Wars films. So being the giant piece of fluffy cake that we are, we decided to put our spectacular Photoshop skills to the test to morph the Oscar Poster with it’s separated at birth Star Wars Poster. Twinsies!

Here is our award winning (as determined by our distinguished panel of designers/cats) Oscar poster that should have been:

Is it so wrong that we literally laugh to tears when the shark comes on with the laughter voice over? Uh yeah, so wrong it’s right. And then wrong again. And then back to right.

Totally loving the Get Carried Away tag line but where are the rest of the girls? Hopefully there will be more versions of the poster, one for each girl? Samantha is going to be pissed!  We’re already planning our opening night festivities. Can’t wait!

Sex And the City Trailer #1!

In Cinema, Pop Culture by Heidi Nyburg on Monday, December 10, 2007

Finally, something worth blogging about! This trailer is perfection, it’s really more of a teaser than a trailer and it’s delicious. No big storyline revelations but it kind of lets you know that everything you love about Sex And the City will be on the big screen. So excited to see this movie! Gotta hand it to the SATC PR machine, they have done a phenomenal job of allowing photo ops for would be spoilers (or are they dream sequences) during shooting, generating tons of buzz for the movie. As if the film’s shoe wardrobe alone wouldn’t generate enough buzz!
